The programme – more intensive, more personalised

At the heart of every element of the programme is the theme, leading system redesign.

The conference programme is designed to allow each delegate to pursue areas of interest to them, while touching on key common themes. It’s an intensive three day programme, with a full day of sessions on day one for the first time, and more breakfast and lunchtime sessions on days two and three.

This year’s programme is also designed to be more interactive and more personalised, with equal emphasis on smaller workshop style sessions as on main stage keynotes. You will be able to book sessions well in advance of the conference, allowing you to create a personal programme suited to your needs and interests.

Day 1: Redesigning learning

Wednesday is dedicated to classroom practice. In the morning, you can choose from one of three key workshops: student leadership, formative assessment or project based learning. Following a keynote address, in the afternoon you will attend your choice of small group sessions – either school showcases or workshop-style sessions with our guest speakers.

Day 2: Redesigning schooling

Day 2, which focuses on the way schooling is organised, starts early with breakfast sessions covering topics as diverse as creativity in the curriculum and the use of data. The exhibition also opens on day 2 and you will be able to see product displays from leading educational suppliers in between keynotes and showcases that challenge every aspect of schooling, exploring topics such as students as the producers of teaching resources, flexible schedules and stage-not-age curricula. Sessions continue over the lunch period, with lunchtime seminars offering the opportunity to work closely with guest speakers in a small group format.

Day 3: Redesigning leadership

Friday focuses on leadership and explores student leadership, developing future leaders, sustaining leadership and understanding what excellent leadership looks like. The day features a large number of workshop options. The exhibition will continue until 2pm and lunch will be served from 11.15 until 2.15 in order to allow delegates to personalise their conference experience.

The closing session of the conference will reflect on the key themes and aim to set an agenda for the way forward.
