The Rochford District Schools Partnership Trust
To develop multi-agency extended services for the Rochford area
which impact on standards.
This is a shared trust of two secondary schools serving the town
of Rochford and the surrounding rural areas of Essex, the trust
opened in April 2008. It developed from a soft federation of
schools.
Schools: King Edmund High School and The FitzWimarc
School.
Partners: Rochford District Council, South Essex College and
the Rotary Club of
Rochford.
The partners were chosen to build on and extend existing
relationships. All are important stakeholders in local educational
and support networks. For example, the link with South Essex
College has strengthened participation rates as the 14-19
vocational agenda develops
Examples of trust impact include:
- Existing strong links with local businesses have been further
developed.
- Vocational courses have been strengthened. (E.g. Hair &
Beauty Diploma)
- The schools have been able to strengthen collaborative working.
(E.g. CPD, NQT exchanges and an a agreed policy on exclusions.
The trust has been working to achieve its aim of developing
multi-agency extended services for Rochford. The trust has held a
number of successful meetings with local primary schools, in
January 2010 twenty eight primaries joined the trust as associate
members.
Plans for the future include focusing on the delivery of local
services, collaborative education and system leadership.
